Maybe get familiar with the 0/1/2/… notation for the pitch accent. When it becomes a conditional reflex you’ll be able to produce the correct sound as soon as you see the number, and in your head the number is perfectly interchangeable with the visual lines.
*disclaimer: I don’t use Anki
Personally i do it like this: high pitch syllables have accents (áéíóú), low pitch syllables dont have anything on top of them, and to let myself know if the pitch goes up/stays up/drops i use ┅━⏋⏌
Examples:
>畑 – hatáké ┅━ > >蚊 – ka ⏌ > >胸 – muné ⏋
Seemed the more intuitive to me so thats what i stuck with.
What I do is mark the downstep with `\` (you can produce this by converting `しゃせん` in Microsoft IME). If there’s no downstep, mark it with ` ̄` (convert `~`). This is the notation used in the newest edition of NHK日本語発音アクセント新辞典.
This is totally non-standard, but I write the accented mora (i.e., the one that precedes the downstep if there is one) in bold.
Just use a down arrow or backslash to indicate where the down step is
