I have applied for my Spouse
\- From Work visa to Spouse of Permanent Visa holder
Her passport is also expiring, so I am applying for her passport also. At the time of passport renewal application, the passport will be submitted to the embassy, and it will be canceled also.
Can I collect a new Resident card if her Spouse of Permanent Visa with the receipt of the application for new passport?
Looking forward for advice.
Also , how much time it takes for for conversion From Work visa to Spouse of Permanent Visa holder

YMMV but the old passports get normally invalidated at the time of pickup for the new one. Normally, the old passport can be taken home too. If there is a visa page you need to not be hole punched or have the corner cut off you need to tell the people at the embassy. So your spouse should at no time be without a passport and AFAIK immigration doesn’t care if it’s expired if she is getting a zairyu card. If you want certainty on this you need to speak with immigration.
