Hi! I’m studying abroad in Nagoya in March and am an avid gamer. There’s a few games coming out during the summer I’ll be there and I want to get physical copies.
Does anyone know where they sell English copies on release day?
I’m specifically planning for Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom & Story of Seasons A Wonderful Life (both for Nintendo Switch).
If there’s a place i could go the day of and get, that would be cool. But even better if i could go and preorder them. Kind of similar to a GameStop here in the US. Thanks in advance!

Switch games shouldnt be a problem. Most support english.
As far as I know all (big name) Switch games sold here include multiple languages, like English. I buy games online but if you want to go to a store, Tsutaya or a big electronics shop like Edion or Bic Camera sells games.
The easiest way to get North American releases is Amazon Japan. But as others have said, the majority of Switch games sold in Japan would have other languages including English.
If you’re willing to pay extra I know Amazon Japan offers some games from the US. I searched and saw SoS: AWL normal and premium editions for ¥9263 and ¥11834 respectively. Look for the kanji “北米” for the North American version.
One of the Traders in Akihabara also has North American versions of some games so if you’re visiting Tokyo, it might be worth a look. Hope that helps!!
