I have a tendency to book too much in a day so I hope that I have since then learned my lesson a bit to where we are not just running around everywhere. Open to whatever you all think including romantic spots, upcoming festivals during that time or anything else you think would be fun for a couple in their early 30s.

We are holding out hope that teamlab borderless opens back up in their new location before august 1st so we can check that out as well but last i read it wont be ready until the end of the year.

Thank you so much in advance!

  1. There’s a music festival going on the last weekend of July, Fuji Rock Festival, if you’re into that sort of thing. I try to get a group together every year, it’s always been a blast, /r/fujirock if you’re interested.

You say you lived in Japan for two years already? In that case, I assume that’s why you’ve got so little planned in Kyoto. It does make me wonder why you have so much planned in Tokyo (at least it seems to me, especially if you’ve already lived in Japan) but it’s just personal preference I’m sure.

Have you considered places like Kanazawa and the other stuff on that side of Japan (like Toyama and its DINOSAUR MUSEUM, Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route, etc)? If you do any of that, I’d take the days away from Tokyo; you could probably consolidate a few of the days.

One suggestion I do have might be to combine your Himeji trip with Hiroshima. As in, go to Himeji for a half day then continue on to Hiroshima. Do whatever in the afternoon then continue your normal plan from there.
