  1. If I am trying to say “That lady over there is really cold.”
    Do I say 「あの姉さんはすごく寒いです。」
    Or do I say 「あの姉さんはすごく冷たいです。」
Please also correct any other mistakes with the sentences.
    Thank you.

  2. Having some trouble with this from the script for Final Fantasy IV.

    > 危ないところを忝い。 私は、ファブールのモンク僧長 ヤン。 このホブスの山で修行中 魔物の群れに襲われ、私を残し全滅してしまった。 あれほどの手だれの者たちが・・・・

If you want more context, it’s here: http://ff4com.s4.xrea.com/ff4conve/conve004.html

I have a couple of problems. First, I can’t figure out what 危ないところを忝い is supposed to mean. Grateful of a dangerous place?

Second, I’m having trouble with あれほどの手だれの者たちが・・・・. I think it means something like, “To the extent of people’s hands (something?)” but I have no idea what that means.

All-in-all, is this supposed to be making fun of how monks talk?

  3. 犬の横に猫がいます vs
    猫は犬の横にいます

They both mean “the cat is next to the dog”, correct?

And I could use either 隣 or 横 because cats and dogs are both animals?

Thank you, I am in the “probably dumb questions” stage of my learning!
