All my conbini bills are cash only (or nanaco at Seven Eleven).
Can you not go to your bank and get money from the teller? Passbook?
For whatever reason, they only seem to accept cash for bills. Maybe they put it in a little envelope and send it to the issuing body 🤣
Nanaco at Seven Eleven is the way to go if you want to pay with Apple Pay. Register a nanaco, add it to your wallet. Charge what you need for the bill with your Apple Pay card, and then pay the bill with nanaco. It effectively allows you to pay your bills with a credit card, domestic or foreign.
You can pay a lot of bills at the bank directly from your account. You also might be able to do furikomi online banking. Sorry you’ve gotta deal with this OP.
It’s incredibly annoying, but in my experience it’s only cold hard cash. Same with postage stamps, phone cards and sodai gomi. I guess it it’s the separation between “their stuff” and other services.
You can’t because the shop needs to pay a fee on each payment done with Suica, but they are unable to mark up the bill amount to compensate, so they would lose money.
On normal products, the price is marked up to account for transaction costs.
In the case of Nanaco at Seven Eleven, they are paying the fee to themselves, so they allow it.
I tried paying with my Suica once but was told that it’s only cash only.
Nope! The only exception to the cash rule at most conbinis is if you happen to have a credit card from that exact combini store brand. I.E. you can pay bills at familymart with a family mart credit card. I think you can also do it with familypay too.
If the bills have a barcode you can probably pay via PayPay. If you don’t have the app I recommend getting it.
I started paying my bills via LinePay on my phone. Helps me a ton because I’ll either forget to take the bill with me when I’m at the conbini, or I’ll forgot I put the bill in my back pack and only realize once I get home.
