Lost my gloves today. Any recommended everyday gloves?

So I lost my UNIQLO Heat tech gloves today. Fuck me.

Was thinking about repurchasing the same one, but that one was not really good at keeping my hands warm, and feels shit while using my smartphone when wearing it.

What gloves are you guys wearing? I’m looking for something that is slim (I mean suitable for daily use) and works good with smartphones. Would be great if someone could provide some recommendations!

  1. go look at MontBell. not too pricey, wide range of styles and materials. some have smartphone-able finger tips too

  2. I wear a battery powered gloves.
It’s made for bike, but I managed to adapt it and use on my portable 12v battery. Heats like hell, but only lasts around 40 minutes or so lol.

  3. I figure I’ll lose them at some point, so I’m using those shitty Uniqlo gloves as well. I’ve lost too many nicer ones to buy expensive stuff anymore.

  4. Montbell! I bought some very toasty wool blend gloves that have smart phone fingertips for ~ ¥3,000.

  5. I go to suit shops such as Aoki and Aoyama and get some good form fitting leather gloves. Some have a warm lining. They should last years if you take care of them. A bit, just a bit of olive oil sometimes to keep them from drying out.

I still have old ones I use as work gloves, and I mean they are ancient. When they got too much damage I used them as light work gloves. When they got more damaged, heavy work gloves.

  6. Decathlon gloves for cycling. The best winter gloves I have purchased so far. 1900yens on the Japanese website.

  7. I’m a fan of my Mechanix FastFits, but they start to get chilly when it’s close to 0 outside. After a while of regular use I’m finding the synthetic suede is starting to have a hard time interacting with my phone and other touch screens. Overall good work gloves for basic stuff around the house, and good enough for winter walks etc.
Next winter I’ll probably get the Coldwork version, and I need to remember to throw a pair of M-Pacts in the bugout bag.
