Hello Everyone. My wife and I are first time travelers to Japan and could use some feedback on our itinerary. We generally like to stay pretty busy, but also enjoy exploring a little. Any and all feedback appreciated!
Day 1 (Tokyo): Land in HND in afternoon, go to hotel in Shimbashi, walk around for Shimbashi/Ginza for dinner.
Day 2 (Tokyo): Ghibli Museum in morning, Shinjuku (Omoide-Yokocho, Godzilla, etc), Harajuku (**is this area worth going to?**) Shibuya (Scramble, SKY). *I know this day is busy, but we will be back in tokyo later so if we miss some stuff we can see it after.*
Day 3 (Tokyo): Tsukiji Fish Market, Teamlab Planets, Akihabara, Owl Cafe, Ginza. We won’t spend more than an hour or so in Akihabara, but worth walking through.
Day 4 (Kyoto): Train to Kyoto hotel near Nishiki Market, Nijo Castle, Tea Ceremony
Day 5 (Kyoto): Bus to Higashiyama Jisho-ji then walk down philosopher’s path to Shoren-in, Kennin-ji, Kiyomizu-dera. Basically explore the entire area. **Any temples in the area more unique than what I chose?**
Day 6 (Kyoto): Arashiyama romantic train then river boat back, Monkey Park, Tenryu-ji (if we have time), then Bamboo Forest in afternoon/night.
Day 7 (Hiroshima): Train to Hiroshima, Peace Museum and A-Bomb Dome, Shukkeien, Ferry to Miyajima where we spend night.
Day 8 (Miyajima): Ropeway to top of Misen then walk down to Daishoin. Train back to Kyoto to hotel near station and relax/do laundry.
Day 9 (Kyoto): Ryoan-ji, Kinkaku-ji, Suntory Distillery, Fushimi Inari Taisha at sunset
Day 10 (Kanazawa) Train to Kanazawa, Omicho Market, Kenroku-en, Higashi Chaya.
Day 11 (Kanazawa ) Gold leaf museum **Any other must see Kanazawa activites?** Toyama for lunch, Train to Takayama.
Day 12 (Takayama) Morning Market, Festival Floats Hall, Takayama Jinya. Explore town.
Day 13 (Takayama) Hida no Sato village. Train back to Tokyo and hotel near Ueno.
Day 14 (Tokyo) Tokyo National Museum, Ueno Park, Senso-ji.
Day 15 (Tokyo) Anything we missed in Tokyo in morning then fly out at night.
