I am located in Tokyo and seeking a diagnosis for borderline personality disorder. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this. I don’t need the names of the different clinics that exist and I don’t need to be warned off of Douglas Berger. I am aware of these things but am specifically seeking a place that can do a BPD assessment in English.

I tried so hard to find a place as well to no avail yet. TELL and the American clinic said they don’t do it.
Fow what it’s worth typically a mental health assessment starts with a description of the current and historical symptoms and associated difficulties. This is sometimes followed by some standardized testing. It is unusual to be assessed solely for the presence or absence of one specific diagnosis like BPD
Also going to a clinic “seeking a diagnosis for borderline personality disorder” seems to indicate you have already decided you have it. You might get a better response if you more open to other possibilities. I wish you all the best.
