In Pimsleur on Audible, in the very first lesson they say ‘Amerika-no-kata desu’ and ‘Amerika-jin desu’, but in the Pimsleur online course, they say ‘anata wa Amerika jin desu’
I find it strange that the audible version avoids ‘anata’ at all costs, but the pimsleur online version uses ‘anata’ so liberally.
So which is it, is using ‘anata’ rude, or is it correct? why the discrepancy?
