Im looking into the basic Japanese alphabet \[heregana\] only at the moment.
I have an understanding of the who L R thing but im confused about some other stuff I cant really find solid information on as everything seems to have their own opinion on these letters. Im starting to feel like its an accent thing

take ふ for exmaple every video or Mnemonics i see gives a different example
most exmaples give me Fu sounding like FOO as in the word FOOD
Then others sound like Pu as in \[Winnie-the-Pooh\]
bu is the next one many videos use as in \[BOO\] what a ghost says.
there are quite a few examples of this with many heregana again i get the R and L ones but others also seem to have no concrete understanding for me.

Think youre confusing the ones with and without dakuten
ふ and ぶ are different
It’s ‘hiragana’.
I think you’re confusing ふ, ぶ, and ぷ
ふ is pronounced fu (like food)
ぶ is pronounced bu (like boo)
ぷ is pronounced pu (like Winnie-the-Pooh)
Also fyi it’s actually hiragana, or ひらがな
Hope this helped
