I love my snacks, especially cheese ones. Without spending a fortune, do you have any “go to” cheese flavored/cheese snacks that suppress the salty/western “cheese” craving?
Gotta embrace the cheese tara(チーズ鱈) for cheap cheesy snacks.
My trick is to grill them with a torch to get crispy and creamy.
I really like Cheeza from Glico, but it depends what you consider spending a fortune 🤔
Google ベイクドリプルチーズスナック to get the visual, it’s a snack from Seiyu’s own line. They’re super good.
Koikeya Kitchen Tortilla Chips + shredded cheese (but only that thin type of mix natural cheese, not the melty shitty ones) to make a little nacho plate. Bonus with sour cream (er, greek yogurt and salt and lime juice) and other additions. But if I’m in a rush, the sad cheese nacho will do it for me.
i get the shitty cheddar cheese triangles in the round boxes and just eat it on crackers. or there’s always boursin i suppose
Shredded cheese + frying pan.
I like those little half inch smoked cheese snacks.
I quite like the Cheese Ring snacks from 7/11. The flavours not perfect but not bad!
Those little smoked cheese nuggets wrapped up like candies in the bag. Holy those are good.
Smart food
I like the ¥100 bags of cheese crackers at Life Supermarket every so often. Not super cheesy but definitely cheap. The fried cheese crisps (around ¥350) are much better though.
I have IBD. I can’t eat cheese and owing to the violent effect it has had in the past as a trigger food, I have zero desire to eat cheese.
But damn I miss Jacob’s mini cheddars from the UK.
Are you into Wasabi smoked cheese?
Imported cheese Doritos. Lots of liquor stores and places with decent import sections have them.
Any cheese flavored snacks made in Japan for Japan just don’t do it.
I just get the export Doritos when I can. I find all the cheese taste stuff here tastes so different. The cheese is like a sickly sweet or a really smelly feet type cheese that turns me off.
Not sure if it really counts as a “snack” but I’ve also been known to make a piece of garlic cheese bread (with mixed shredded cheese) between meals sometimes if I’m quite hungry. Or just buy a block of red cheddar and some crackers and have cheese and crackers.
not really cheese but I like these senbei with cheese and almond on top
I’m not religious or anything, but I think that the Four Cheese flavor スコーン is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy
I’ve recently been hooked on cheese umaibos. My local daiso sells them in packs of 50 for 500y. I’m allowed one a day after work; two on satruday/sunday…
I’m from Australia and have really been missing ‘twisties’. They’re not quite the same but it does give the same satisfying, cheesy crunch.
Cheez-It was my go to snack in the US. Rice crackers have become my replacement snack.
Cheese Puffs from Family Mart are remarkably similar to Cheeto Puffs.
The “cheese ring” snacks from 7-11.
Sounds like you need a family abroad to ship you spray cheese.

Aerial with cheddar cheese flavor
The cheese crisps at Muji are legit. They’re imported from Europe I think

These are good. You need 2 or 3 packs per session though.
I love cheese but it’s so expensive I rarely buy it now sadly.
