福豆 (ふくまめ) is the perfect snack, prove me wrong

Honestly, they are full of proteins (35.9g for 100g) not a bad taste, quite cheap (less than a 100y for it).
Am I wrong?

I think they are not sold the rest of the year unfortunately.
So any similar snacks that could compete with this one ?

  1. Yes, the roasted beans that come with hot drinks at Komeda’s Coffee are basically the same, but better. A handful of them doesn’t dry out your mouth like the setsubun ones. They sell them for super cheap in little packs at the register.

  2. They’re sold year-round. At least they have them at my local supermarkets (Maruetsu/Odakyu OX). They’re in larger bags. I think 1kg?

  3. If you like them that’s all that counts. Why do you want someone to change your mind?

Personally I enjoy them but it’s high calorie (similar calorie to protein ratio as a chocolatey protein bar).

  4. The edamame chips are decent. I think a small bag is about 350 calories with 12g of protein. I wouldn’t eat it every day but it tides over any snack craving I can’t put down.
