Looking for a representative selection of Japanese fonts for teaching Hiragana and Katakana

I have an online tool I created years ago to help people learn Hiragana and Katakana. I’d like to add a feature so that you can choose which font to view the characters in. I’d like to offer a few fonts that are representative of what you might come across most often in Japanese media.

But I’m no longer learning Japanese myself and don’t know what would be a good selection. Any ideas? I’m looking for maybe 4 or so free, varied web fonts. Currently thinking of using [Google’s Japanese fonts](https://fonts.google.com/?subset=japanese&noto.script=Jpan) but could use others.

e.g. [Noto Sans JP](https://fonts.google.com/noto/specimen/Noto+Sans+JP) seems a good, basic, simple one. And *maybe* [Zen Antique](https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Zen+Antique)? But I don’t really know.
