Boy licked shared items, contaminated kaiten sushi items at Sushiro and posts on SNS. Gets criminal and civil lawsuits. What would happen in other countries?

While the family apologized on behalf of the boy who appears to be either in middle or high school, the parents will need to spend money for lawyers and a civil case likely will end up costing $300,000 USD in compensation.

  1. What happened here? Nobody can have nice things. You can only get what you order.

This little shit ruined silly sushi for people that don’t suck.

  2. >What would happen in other countries?

I don’t know man. Try it in your country and let us know what happens.

  3. > What would happen in other countries?

Probably something similar because there’s a risk of disease transmission and thus potential bodily harm at play.

  4. In the US, I think it depends on intention and this is a minor. It’d still be serious, I don’t think the bill will run up to be $300,000 in legal fees or harsher penalties like juvenile detention.

  5. Not that kind of an overreaction.
Sure, it’s not nice but in the end it is a minor offence.

  6. Feel like this title is trying to somehow jerk off Japan and their reaction to this event. I could be wrong, but I first found out about this story on instagram and WOW, somehow this all was twisted into blaming the US.

Doesn’t matter what would happen in other countries does it? This was a Japan issue. I’m more concerned about how this changes the dynamic of conveyer belt sushi now. That’s the real question here.

Does this ruin the experience for all? Ruin the small but nice conveniences you would find at conveyer belt sushi places?
