  1. Having some trouble with this (poem?)/prophecy thing from the Final Fantasy IV script. For more context, the script is here: http://ff4com.s4.xrea.com/ff4conve/conve007.html

I put the part I’m having most trouble with in bold.

    > 竜の口より生まれしもの

One who is born from the mouth of a dragon

    > 天高く舞い上がり

    Flying high in the heavens

    > 闇と光をかかげ

    Carrying the light and darkness

    > 眠りの地に更なる約束を**持たらさん**

(???) further promises to the sleeping land (I need help with 持たらさん, I have no idea what that is)

    > 月は果てしなき光に包まれ

The moon wrapped in endless light

    > 母なる大地に大いなる恵みと

    > 慈悲を与えん

Bestows a great blessing and mercy to Mother Earth

  2. Is it normal or natural to greet people with phrases such as ぼく の ともだち, こんにちは or ぼく の かぞく, こんにちは? Or would it sound really strange in normal Japanese conversation? Or does it not even make any sense at all? Sorry for the Hiragana only, I don’t know many Kanji.

  3. I can’t make heads or tails of this sentence: 何かの役に立つ、形のあるもの。Could somebody please break it down for me? One of the things that is confusing me is using の to link a noun with a verb in “何かの役に立つ”, and in “形のある”. I thought It only linked nouns.

  4. When saying “I dont know what I should say” would you say 何を言えば いいですか or 何と言いたほうがいいですか

  5. >住人に話しかけると誕生日プレゼントがもらえる。

    It’s が instead of を because it’s a potential, right?
