Hi LearnJapanese,
Without going into details, my mom, a native Japanese speaker with fluency in English, no longer has a source of income. Besides the support from our family, I believe tutoring Japanese would be a good way for her to help pay for expenses.
Does anyone have recommendations on what companies she can apply to for working as a tutor? She has a degree in childhood education but does not have any professional experience tutoring or teaching Japanese to english speakers.
Alternatively, if anyone is looking for 1-1 tutoring and is interested, definitely let me know! She is a great conversationalist and is very easy to get along with.
I appreciate any and all advice here. Thank you!

Ah, yes, I’ve been looking for a tutor! I really want a tutor who can ask me good questions and keep up a conversation so would be interested in chatting with your mom if possible! 🙂
She can try Italki, where she can set her own prices per hour. There are community tutors and professional tutors. She would likely be applying as a community tutor.
I’m happy with my current tutor but I wish her all the best.
