Anyone studying/has studied at Keio SFC?

I’ve just graduated high school, and I’m currently looking into the GIGA Programme offered at Keio SFC! I have a few questions related to the programme as well as the school culture:

1. After graduation, do most people continue to work/study in Japan? Is there anyone who went on to other countries for their masters or ended up staying elsewhere in the long-term?

2. I’ve heard about the disparity in quality between classes taught in English as compared to Japanese. How bad is the disparity, and is it common for international students to take classes in Japanese?

3. What are some of the career paths that people go on after graduation with regards to design? I’m interested in taking design courses during my time there, and I would like to pursue industrial design.

4. Do the Japanese and international students often interact with each other in day-to-day life?

Thank you so much!

  1. About the 2nd question yes it’s often that international students have the Japanese course. Actually I am know studying Japanese to enter the Japanese course !

  2. 1. From my previous experience as a grad student and anecdotal experience from friends and acquaintances, most tend to leave the country unless they can already speak Japanese reasonably well.
    2. This disparity is often exaggerated, but it does exist, and the quality of education in your home country would likely be better.
    3. I can’t answer this question, sorry.
    4. Depends on the university and your Japanese ability. But generally speaking, yes.
