Starting Online D&D game! (5e)

For those who would be so inclined;

I have moved to Sapporo, Hokkaido recently. For personal reasons, I’ll be here for the foreseeable future. With that in mind, I would like to start a campaign of DND for any English-speaking Ex-pats currently living in Japan. Those living in the same time zone would do nicely, as sessions would last from 2000-2300 on Fridays or Saturdays, depending on player preference.

I have several books with which we can partake in modules. Rest assured, I’ve been a DM/ Game Master for 7 years now, and can answer most of your questions. However, if I may entreat you with a selfish request, I do have my own homebrew campaign; a world of magic and swords in which your party would be subject to the cruel designs of a jilted god-beast long betrayed by the gods he served since the beginning of time.

The choice is yours. Whether you want to have a bit of English Speaking fun, roll some digital dice with the homies, or share stories about all our collective experiences in our beloved Japan, I say that you’re all welcome. So please. Send me a message. Age, Race, Orientation, Religion, I really don’t give a shit. All I need are 5-6 players with which to play in the Japanese time zone once a week on Fridays or Saturdays.

Be seeing you soon! Comment on this message if you sent me a PM.

  1. Aw man, this is my dream. I wish I could join but I have a newborn and my nights can’t go that late… I hope you guys have fun!

  2. This sounds fun but I guess you’d need to be able to attend every week if it’s a campaign? I’m sometimes busy on Friday night and fairly often on Saturday…

  3. >if I may entreat you with a selfish request, I do have my own homebrew campaign

I have only ever played homebrew campaigns, lol

I’m am *very* tempted… I already am in two other online campaigns..

  4. Fuck yes, I’ve been wanting to get back into playing lately, so Saturday’s would be perfect for me. I have a newborn, but he should be asleep by that time, and his father can take care of him for three hours without any issue.

  5. I’d love to play! I’m based in Ibaraki and am free at those times. PM sent.

  6. I am interested I am in Ibaraki. I haven’t played since 3.5 Edition but I do own the core rule books for 5 on my iPad and have a character ready to go.

  7. Welcome to Sapporo. Post this also in /r/Sapporo and FB Sapporo International Network (SIN) group. Also, there is a guy in Sapporo who organizes in person board games. You might want to find him on SIN and connect with him.

  8. Hey there! I’m newly arrived in Japan and I’ve never played DnD before, but I have followed some campaigns in the past and it always seemed really interesting. My only issue is that I’m living in a company dormitory in Tokyo and they can be *very* strict about noise, so I probably wouldn’t be able to do as much improv as I’d like… Still, really cool idea and hope you find a good party to play with!

  9. I messaged you. I’ve been looking for a D&D group in our timezone for-eh-ver so I’d be absolutely thrilled to join this one!

  10. Hey! I’d be down to join as a player if we’re doing it virtually. I have roll 20 & D&D Beyond & can adapt as needed. Let me know what works best for you and/or what kind of campaign style it is.

Sent a PM. It sounds like a great opportunity to hang out & have a good time. 🙂

  11. Dang I just moved out of Hokkaido and back to Tokyo last year. Would love to join but seems like you have many people declaring interests already.

    Big ups for running this.

  12. I’m really happy to see you’re getting plenty of players, OP! Gives me hope if I ever want to recruit some players here. Good luck and have fun!!

  13. With the amount of people who have expressed interest, even though this game is probably already full, probably wouldn’t be a bad idea for someone else to step up and run another game
