Itinerary check: Four weeks in Japan

Hey everyone! My husband and I are spending four weeks in Japan soon and I was wondering if my itinerary looks alright so far. We’re kind of going all over the place so I’m just not sure if I’m getting myself into a rut here and wanted to check in before digging myself deeper. Anything major I’m missing/overlooking?

I haven’t fully fleshed out each day yet, but I’ve booked all our accommodation (which is all free cancellation). I have an idea of most of the activities/sights we want to do, but haven’t booked them into specific days yet.

I’m trying to give us a bit of breathing room to stop and see things we find along the way, and not try to cram too much into each day.

I’m still only half-way through travel guides so some of the later destinations like Osaka and Sapporo I haven’t got as far as planning activities for. I’ve just booked a few days accomm as I know there will be things we want to do.

Open to suggestions/recommendations for any activities or changes to the below.
Any advice so far?

Thanks!

  1. Samurai museum closed.

27 is a Monday, shinjuku gyoen is colon Monday

Instead of Tokyo tower and gov building, I would recommend Roppongi Hills Mori Tower and Shibuya Sky for observation deck.

Kind of make no sense to change hotel in Tokyo

Feel that the Sapporo leg is a waste of time on the boat for really not much time there.
