When I signed up for a PayPay Ginko account I had to provide a copy of my MYNumber card and my residency card by post mail. To verify your ID through the app you need either a MyNumber card or a Japanese drivers license.

I tried with Residence card and they just told me to renew My Number card. I have it, but it expired and I don’t feel like going to city hall right now.
I’m glad to see a recent post about paypay, is it just impossible for americans to use paypay? I had to quit on the application because I got to a dead end where it wouldn’t let me continue as an american. Am I missing something? Any help greatly appreciated.
You can also get a Paypay account and not provide ID if you’re a LINEMO, Ymobile, or Softbank subscriber.
