  1. I was searching through the sub and came across a post asking about using japanese children’s books as reading practice. There was a reply saying that was a bad idea, but the poster didn’t elaborate. Can anyone explain why?

I’m 3/4 of the way through Genki I and I want to spend some of my free time reading rather than doing workbook exercises. What are some options for early beginners like myself, other than the graded readers?

  2. I just found a new word, 他人、 is it something mostly used in written or games? Or is it something you hear in daily conversation too? As I can’t find much about it online.
