Family Itinerary Check: Tokyo 2 days (break) then another 2 days late March

Hi everyone, I could use some help with the Tokyo portion of my family trip to Japan. Me, my wife, son (14) and daughter (11), will be in Japan for about two weeks with 2 days in Tokyo at the start and 2 days at the end. When there we want to take in the excitement and unique aspects of the city. I’ve made a rough list of things to do each day, but I’m totally sure its too much each day or I’ve put in things that are too far from each other. ANY suggestions or comments on the below would be super helpful as I’d like to get this a bit more solid this week…

  1. Yes, I am pretty sure the Robot Restaurant is closed

Please note the Gundam Factory in Yokohama closes for good at the end of March 2023.

If you go the Robot Restaurant page you can not actually book.

Team Lab Borderless is also closed for now. They are hoping to get it back up sometime in the Summer. The part of Odaiba where it was located had everything there torn out to put in something new. Teamlab Planets is still open and there is a TeamLab installation in Osaka.

I think you will struggle to get all that shopping done on the 25th unless you are not planning to shop at all and just walk past places. My last trip to Takeshita dori on 12/30/22 was incredibly crowded and there were 20-30 person deep lines to buy most snacks. It was sort of ridiculous. I would never go back on either a week end or a Japanese vacation period and you are doing both.

I don’t know why you are going back to Harajuku on the 27 when you were just there on the 26th. Takeshita dori and Meiji Jingu are in Harajuku. I am unsure how much cosplay there will be on the 26th or 27th, since while it is a holiday time, Anime Japan 2023 is the 25th and 26th at Big Sight. Anime Japan has a lot of restrictions still from Covid, so if you decide to try to go there on Sunday make sure you know the rules.

What are you planning to do with your kids while you are at the NY Bar?

The Bar does not allow anyone under 20 to enter. https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/hotel/japan/park-hyatt-tokyo/tyoph/dining
