X Ko is proper way of saying it and they usually come in packs of 6 ko or 12 ko iirc. If this is Dotonbori you won’t even need to order directly as there are ticket machines for the more popular joints.
Minimal serving sizes vary from place to place, but the minimum order is usually 5 or 6 balls, which you would order as 5個 (5こ = goko) / 6個 (6っこ = rokko).
If you do order in Japanese, expect the staff member to ask you what toppings you want.
However, if you go to a major tourist spot, in all likelihood they will have a menu in English that you can just point to when ordering. Or they will speak English.
