Kids Duo employment

Hi, I will have an interview with Kids Duo International and was wondering for those who have worked there.

The salary is 250,000yen/month.
Pension, Health Insurance and Commute is cover from what I hear. And they sponsor visas as well.

Is it a good place to work at?
Is it worth it from an employee’s perspective?

Looking forward to any information that can help me make a decision!

Thank you in advance!

  1. My child went to KD. From my understanding each school can be a bit different. This is just a customer perspective…

Do you know what “gakudo” is? It’s like an afterschool activities class. They have them at elementary schools but they are in Japanese. KD is sort of like that but private and in English. So it’s not really teaching per se, IMHO. They do a bit of teaching – just a bit -which is very basic English and little bits about different countries, a spelling bee, some semi-educational games.

Nearly all the kids at our school were Japanese and I think their parents just wanted them to get some exposure to English. You might find one or two, or three kids like my child who are bilingual or at least have studied somewhat.

In the end we left KD because they were a bit less convenient/flexible than other similar places and we felt we were paying a premium for something we didn’t really need (English). The private competitors would be Meiko Kids and Emifice. We ended up with Emifice. Neither of those places emphasize English but Emifice does have a person that comes in a couple of times a week to teach kids colors and greetings and such.
