I asked this acquaintance (Japanese) of mine if he has any allergies. He mumbled something that I didnt catch, but he did say he can’t eat fruits (I don’t know why) and crabs.
He doesnt seem too sure himself what he’s allergic to because when I asked if prawns were ok he was like あぁぁどうだろう、大丈夫かも
I’m thinking of getting him cup noodles or other types of instant ramen. Of course I’ll check for the two allergens he has.
But would like to know, what are good souvenirs from Osaka to get for him? I want something that can fill him up but not something that might have something he’s allergic to, especially since he didnt seem to know himself.

You may also want to try asking in /r/Osaka.

Senbe rice crackers are my go-to for people whose tastes I’m not sure about.
Are you going to drop by USJ? Looks like they have a special [すぱいだぁ麺](https://castel.jp/p/5811) there.
Or for the traditional snack-like omiyage, how about the one that is a pun on the famous Hokkaido omiyage: [面白い恋人](http://www.santa.ne.jp/omoshiroikoibito/about.html)
If you’re going to give it to him as soon as you return, the standard [Horai 551](https://www.551horai.co.jp/) is always good.
Could get some unique KitKat from the Dontobori Store.
Okonomiyaki flavored senbei?
Some omiyage shops will have little signs next to the omiyage with allergen information, but if you’re not sure, ask the staff what they recommend.
If you google 大阪 お土産ランキング
you will get a good idea of what is popular.
I am going for different direction here. Did you mention to your acquaintance that you are getting him a souvenir ? If you did and that’s how he replied, he probably felt burdened by it and answered the allergen question with that kind of reply.
get him a porno magazine and a bottle of whiskey.
