I don’t really understand the difference between:
戻す、引き戻す、取り戻す and 連れ戻す. To me, they’re all expression for returning something or reverting/restoring something. Can anybody explain the difference, if there is any?

You have to look at the root word/prefix. 戻す is more of the generic, catch-all term but it really is closer to the meaning of returning. 引き戻す has the nuance of being pulled back (引く to pull). 取り戻す has the nuance of being taken back (取る to take). 連れ戻す specifically means to take a person back (連れる to bring someone along)
