Has anyone managed to post an “e packet” parcel from Japan to the EU?

For context, I’ve spent a while travelling Japan and now have no more space in my luggage for the stuff I couldn’t resist buying.

At the post office’s direction, I signed up for the “My Page for International Mail” and completed the online form. However, the online form wouldn’t allow me to select any of the “e packet” options (they were greyed out, not red like EMS or Parcel), even though my parcel met the less than 2kg & less than 90cm total length requirements. I ended up having to pay more for a standard parcel via “Surface mail”.

Does anyone know why this happened or at least how to get the e packet option selectable (as I expect I’ll need to post more accumulated souvenirs next month). I’ve spent like an hour googling this and most guide sites just list “e packet” as an option available to choose (one even recommended choosing it as a cheaper alternative to EMS).

If the information helps, I posted my parcel from Sapporo recently.
