Is there a jp alternative/version of “sending hugs” and the likes?

I’d like to interact more with jp speakers on social media, but I’m really scared I’ll make a faux pas, haha. Are there perhaps any resources that would be helpful regarding interacting? I don’t want to appear rude or insensitive, but I want to start working on how to work it out!

  1. hmm I think this would depend greatly on context! for example, why are you sending hugs? are they sick? death in the family? just a bad day? also, how close are you to them? I think there are different expressions based on situation and formality level in Japanese whereas “sending hugs” could work much more universally in English.
