We are big foodies. Please share your must visit spots within each stop!
Still trying to lay down the logistics between the different districts, let me know what you think.
**Day 0 – Arriving in NRT 6pm**
* Pick up pocket wifi and head to Hotel in Shin Okubo
* Grab a late dinner around the hotel area or Shinjuku and rest
**Day 1 – Shinjuku, Harajuku, and Shibuya**
* Tokyo Metropolitan Gov Building, Shinjuku Gyoen, Samurai Museum, Shopping
* Takeshita, Meiji Jingu Shrine, Omotesando
* Shibuya Crossing, Shibuya Sky (sunset), Nonbei Yokocho
*Sushi Tokyo Ten in Shibuya was recommended*
**Day 2 – Asakusa, Akihabara, and Daikokufuto**
* Senso-ji, Nakamise-dori, Asakusa Jinja. Sumida Park
* Kappabashi for some houseware shopping
* Yodobashi, Mandarake, Arcades
* Tour to Daikokufuto to see some cars, end the nigh in Shinjuku
**Day 3 – Tsukiji, teamlab: Planets, Odaiba, Imperial Palace, Ginza, and Roppongi**
* Breakfast at Tsukiji outter market before teamlab: Planets at 10?
* Diver City? Unko Museum?
* Imperial Palace and area
* Ginza for shopping and food
* Zojoji Temple, Zeus club?
**Day 4 – Ueno, Ameyoko, and Yokohoma**
* Ueno park, zoo?, Tokyo National Museum, Nezu Shrine
*Kappabashi here instead?*
* Noodle cup museum, China Town, Nissan HQ
* Forward luggages to Kyoto Hotel
* Finish the night in Shinjuku
**Day 5 – Hakone**
* Grab the free pass and head to Hakone
* Do first half of loop
* Onsen and relax for the night at Ryokan
**Day 6 – Hakone and Kyoto**
* Finish loop and head to Kyoto
* Kyoto Station Area, Kinkaku-ji, North Hagashiyama Area
* Hotel in Kawaramachi area (eat around Gion?)
**Day 7 – Kyoto**
* Arashiyama, Monkey Park, Tenryuji
* Nishiki Market / Pontocho for lunch
* South Higashiyama Area
* Night in Gion
**Day 8 – Kyoto and Osaka**
* Fushima Inari, Tofuku-ji Temple, Sennyu-ji Temple
* Travel to Osaka
* Osaka castle and then hotel in Namba area
**Day 9 – Osaka**
* Osaka Aquarium, Tempozan, Umeda building, Kita district
* End day in Dotonbori
**Day 10 – Nara and Osaka**
* Nara highlights then Dotonbori
**Day 11 – Osaka**
* Shopping in Minami, Shinsaibashi-suji
* Hozenji Yokocho, Doguyasuji, Denden Town
* Abeno Harukas
**Day 12 – Depart KIX**

Day 6 is impossible even if your ryokan is right next to Hakone-Yumoto station; look up the train and bus times. Kyoto station, Kinkakuji, and Gion are all in different parts of Kyoto and I would budget an hour for each transfer leg within Kyoto. Don’t forget that temples close around five. I would swap Tofukiji and/or Fushimi Inari to this day since they are accessed from Kyoto Station anyway, then head straight to your hotel and go for an evening spin around Gion if you feel up to it.
What is north and south higashiyama? There are 100000 temples/shrines/attractions in each of these, you’re going to have to make a list and prioritize.
