What major sightseeing destination in Japan has terrible public transport access?

Today’s question is: What major sightseeing destination in Japan has terrible public transport access?

Most of the major tourist locations are easily accessed by public transport, whether it is a shinkasen, a local train, or one of the buses. Even many fairly remote locations are much easier to access than in other countries.

But there are important destinations like Dewa Sanzan, Kurokawa Onsen or Takachiho Gorge that get awful service from the tourist perspective (or indeed no service at all).

So tell us about the locations in Japan that are worth visiting that have terrible public transport access.
