I was thinking of doing a run of Pokémon Black in Japanese. My logic is, I’ll be forced to translate as I go, picking up on recurring words and sentence particles. Thought it would be a fun experiment to see how much I learn by the end of it. Anyone tried this before?

I tried it, yes, with Black 2 funnily enough xD It’s been quite useful tbh
I played Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue and Pokemon Platinum in JP back in the day, months before they were released in English. It was super challenging for my language level at the time but I learnt a lot and had a blast because the games were so good. I say go for it if you love Pokemon 🙂
