Hey all, spending a lot of time atm planning my trip to Japan later this month, how do you think this itinerary looks for just the Tokyo part? No problem switching days around
Tokyo
27-7 February:
Day 1
Teamlab Planets
Tokyo Tower
Tsukuji outer market
Day 2
Hachiko statue
Nintendo shop
Shibuya crossing
Meiji shrine
Day 3
Tokyo Disneysea
Day 4
Shinjuku gyoe
Golden Gai
Metropolitan building for views
Robot Restaurant (is this worth it?)
Day 6
Imperial Palace
Akihabara area
Day 7
Nakemise dori
Sensoji
Tokyo skytree
Day 8
Ghibli museum
Cup noodles museum
Day 9
Nikko day tour
Maybe mount takao, oyama or mitake?
Also maybe Ataminor Kawazu for early cherry blossom?
Should I spend more/less time here and are there any other things you would recommend me seeing?
I really like seeing things you can only see here, hiking, temples/shrines/palaces (although not 100s of the same ones), good food and picturesque places:)
Will be staying at the Nui Hostel for the first part and will probably book hostel in Shinjuku for other part of trip. This is my first solo trip.
Thank you!

Your day 8 doesn’t look doable. There’s a lot of time you’re wasting on travel because all 3 are far apart from each other. Yokohama and Gibli museum can be done together because they’re an hour apart from each other by train and Yokohama is quite nice to walk around. I would suggest going to Nikko on a separate day since it takes almost 2hours by shinkansen then transfer to regular train from Tokyo station. I spent a few hours in Nikko just recently.
Day 1 – Tsukiji outer market closes on Wednesday and Sunday. And it’s more of a very early morning place to visit, so should be the first thing you go to. Team Lab Planets remember to pre purchase your ticket slot to save time queuing.
Day 2 – Meiji Shrine closes by 4pm. Head first early in the morning, Shibuya stores only start opening up around 11am.
Day 4 – Robot Restaurant has been closed for a few years.
Day 8 – You’re travelling all over. Ghibli museum warrants a few hours if you include travelling there and taking your time. And tickets must be purchased beforehand online, next month tickets is available from 10th of current month at their site. Cup noodle museum is all the way in Yokohama. And Nikko is an entire different place that usually takes up a full entire day.
Search for all the places that you listed here one by one on google. Check the opening hours and days. And check the distance from one another.
2- Personally thing wrong order, do Meiji shrine first, open earlier, stores usually open at 10-11am.
4- wrong order. Golden gai is to end the day. Also robot restaurant is close.
8- those two are really not in the same area. Kind of strange combination. Ghibli can go with Nakano and even end the day in Shinjuku. cup noodle museum would be better with a full days spent around Yokohama
A hostel change is not necessary but if you are to book one in Shinjuku, it can make sense to do all the visit of the area around while you stay in Shinjuku.
Is this just as part of the itinerary? The title say 1 month and you have 9 days of itinerary.
