What is this lime green object in my poke bowl?

  3. “Oshinko,” that’s pickled radish. I think it’s more yellow than green though

    Actually “oshinko” can refer to any pickled vegetable. This oshinko is specifically “takuan” which is pickled daikon radish

  4. So…the yellow is takuan and is pickled daikon radish. It’s a traditional popular tsukemono or Japanese-style pickles. It’s good in oshinko maki which is actually a sushi unlike poke which is not; and is usually considered more a donburi if the poke is served on plain rice.

  6. Takuan. It’s a pickled radish like most have said. In this case takuan are normally pickled and dyed a YELLOW color, such as the picture you have provided.
