Hi everyone,
I will possibly need to make a tight self connection at Haneda after arriving from Oita, and I really need a general estimate of how long it takes for bags to get from the plane to baggage claim after the plane has parked at the gate.
Might it take 15-20 minutes or is this wishful thinking? I have no idea how efficient Haneda is
Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

15-20 mins is pretty accurate, though add 10 mins just in case. The main issue will be your Oita-Haneda flight being delayed. If you can, plan on taking an earlier flight. You just never know.
My experience with Haneda is that the transfer from the domestic terminal to the international terminal, or vice-versa, involves a 20-minute bus ride. It’s *ridiculously* long.
YMMV. My experience is usually flying with Delta/ANA/JAL.

You should be able to check your bags from Oita to your final destination, so you shouldn’t need to pick them up at Haneda. If you’re booking the flights completely separately to get around the fact that they won’t sell you the combination that you want, realize that the reason they won’t do so is probably because the connection time is way too short.
