I have to do a medical check before I start my new job. It is my first job in japan and I have to provide the first medical check before starting.
I assume it is a general check, and not very detailed. So I was wondering how much do they cost in Tokyo area? I don’t want to get ripped off. I don’t speak Japanese, so I am talking about english speaking clinics. I don’t want anything fancy, just a typical check.
I checked the other japan subreddits, and researched on google as well. I even found some clinics and looked at their websites. But I appreciate the knowledge coming from people with experience.
How much should I expect to pay for it? Should I expect to pay more than 30k? And are there any clinics that you recommend?

Here in Yokohama it’s usually around 10-15k for the standard health check. Should probably not be much more in Tokyo.
I’ve basically just been to 総合健診センターヘルチェック. Its reasonably priced and nothing to complain about.
Are you sure you have to pay for the check yourself?
I’ve had those checks multiple times. In all cases, the employer paid 100% the cost.
