What’s a word opposite of “Ronin”?

So my friend is writing a story and he’s trying to come up with a name and I’m trying to find a Japanese word that parallels “Ronin” as someone who has found there place. Or someone who is at the end of there journey ect. Sorry if this is the wrong sub not sure where else to post

  1. Ronin is a warrior who is not sworn to a Daimo. The “opposite” would be Samurai or peasant. Not sure what description they’re working off of. Ronin doesn’t mean wanderer, even though it’s often associated with that archetype. It’s closer to saying jobless (and is slang for that)

  2. For your purpose, I propose farmer (農場主, I dont know if there is an older term for it, Noujoushu. In order to not be too on the nose, you could cut it to Noujou, read Nohjoh, =field crop farm; plantation; farm) or a typical name of a farmer (if it has to be Japanese, e.g. Yoshida, but it is such a typical name that it might not give the right effect?).

Even considering the educating answer of u/corrinmana, it still works: it is a peasant ;P it is not only a person who is settled in contrast to the Ronin’s wandering image, but a person who works the land and (depending which culture and time-period you look at) they would belong to a lord or be self-owned.
