Survey about learning Japanese through apps

Hi! I’ve been studying Japanese casually for almost 3 years. A friend and I are working on our Bachelor’s thesis at the University of Skövde in Sweden. Our thesis is about the effectiveness of studying Japanese through apps, and we are comparing Renshuu, Duolingo, and Lingodeer. If you use any of these apps it would be greatly appreciated if you could answer our survey. It should only take about 5-10 minutes. 1. I use Tsurukame, the Wanikani app, for kanji study, but for other parts of Japanese, I don’t really use apps. Should I still fill out the survey?

  2. Done, tried to clarify a bit how much I use apps, what results I expect from using them, and what other learning materials I use in the extra fields. I predict that using apps for language learning would probably help most people with reading and writing but very little with speaking and listening. To be honest listening comprehension was always a weak point when I took language courses in school and I think its just not always emphasized nearly enough or early enough.

  3. I look at reviews, price, and effectiveness of each app. I do research before choosing an app. I use Duolingo and Drops.

  4. Well I technically still use Duolingo but I would guess it contributes less than 5% to my studies now. Still filled it out.
