Is anyone here affected by the suspension of Shinkansen between Shizuoka and Tokyo that’s been going on for hours now? I can’t imagine what those platforms must be like let alone being stuck on the trains themselves.
These kinds of suspensions is not that rare. It sucks, but it’s not the end of the world.
I’ve been stuck for 6 hours in the past. Nothing to do but wait.
It’s fine on board. Been on a 3 hour stoppage once, albeit an awful day to travel. Also people would probably leave the platform and go elsewhere, or change their ticket while they waited. Biggest pain in the backside would be the time behind schedule and perhaps chasing refunds.
It happened about a month ago at a power station in Nagoya and shut down the train for several hours.
