I am in my intro to Japanese class, and I have to write about my favorite movie. Do these sentences translate correctly?
(Topic) My favorite movie
My favorite movie is Lord of the Rings.
I like action fantasy.
The Lord of the Rings is very interesting.
It is a very long movie.
The main character in The Lord of the Rings is Frodo.
Frodo’s friend is Sam.
Frodo and Sam are very short.
Frodo is thin.
Sam is fat.
(Topic) 私のすきなえいが
私のすきなえいがは 、ロード・オブ・ザ・リングです。
アクション・ファンタジーがすきです。
ロード・オブ・ザ・リングはとてもおもしろいです。
とてもながいえいがです。
ロード・オブ・ザ・リングのメインキャラクターはフロドです。
フロドのともだちはサムです。
フロドとサムはすごくせがひくいです。
フロドはやせています。
サムはふとっています。

They all seem good to me! This isn’t a problem you made, but I find it interesting how Frodo was written as 「フロド」and not 「フロード」 since the first “o” is emphasized in English; that’s how it’s usually done, but I guess that’s not how it was said at the time or something.
There’s actually another name for Lord of the Rings in japanese. It’s 指輪物語(ゆびわものがたり).

The movie title is ロード・オブ・ザ…でもリング and the novel title is 指輪物語.
