  1. Hi I use it.

Anki is great and so is AnkiDroid, but you don’t need this for hiragana.

Just keep copying the chart again and again to paper, and you’ll have it in a few hours.

It doesn’t require any fancy software.

Where anki shines is for vocabulary retention.

  2. Use [www.realkana.com](https://www.realkana.com) instead. Anki is good for many things but even if you just kept hitting 1 for the answer, the cards would only appear in the same order over and over again which isn’t helpful in this regard. That site is the best way to drill kana imo.

  3. >it has a set amount of study time

Anki doesn’t have a time limit by default. It does have a new card limit, which is adjustable.

Anyway, anki is supposed to be done in spurts, and you’re supposed to wait until your cards are due so as to take advantage of the benefits of spaced repetition.

    >i would like to keep reviewing the deck over again

You can keep reviewing in advance, and even extend the new card limit for the day through the custom study menu. You shouldn’t overdo it, however, or you’ll be flooded with new cards.

As for learning kana, there are a lot of apps floating around. I remember an app called Obenkyo that had an on-demand review system.
