I need some recommendations for 2 free days from Tokyo

Ok guys, I have been planning my itinerary on and off for about 2-3 months now.

And I really need some recommendations/advice. I arrive in Tokyo from Miyakojima on 04-04-23.

05-04-23 is for Disneyland

06-04-23 is for A whole day in Tokyo to eat all the restaurants I want/ sightseeing in the city

07-04-23 is for Mount Fuji

Now here lies the issue, I manage to book a Ryokan in izu (shizuoka) for a really good price.

This is the ryokan’s name 稲取銀水荘

The reservation is for 10-04-23.

So I am stuck between either spending 2 more days in Tokyo which my partner isnt too keen on as she wants to see more of the country.

The other option is to plan a trip somewhere (which im seriously am short of ideas at this stage) then head over to shizuoka on the 10th for my Ryokan stay.

11-04-23 will be visiting mount omuro, exploring abit in izu before i head back to Tokyo for my departure flight on the 13th.

I seriously considered Nagao, mainly to visit the Togakushi Shrine and Sora Terrace before I gave it up to 2 reasons. 1) The sky clouds at Sora Terrace were a huge gamble, I did not want to make up way all the way up and not being able to see it. 2) I did not manage to find any other spots that intrigued me besides Utsukushigahara Highland.

The other locations I considered were niigata for the Tunnel of light at the Kiyotsu gorge however it seems so far from Izu.

I really wanted to visit kamikochi however it does not open till April 17th.

The Alpine route only opens on April 15th.

As you can see, I really like natural and scenic spots since I do not have any of them in my home country.

Thus, I would like to seek your suggestions on where I should travel from Tokyo for 2 days before heading over to Izu for my Ryokan stay.

  1. Since you’ll already be in that area after Fuji, don’t head back to Tokyo.

You could check out the west side of Izu, though there is no train line running down that side. Lots of beaches and nature spots though. Shizuoka city has a lot of fun restaurants though I don’t quite know about all the nature that might be around there.

North of Mt. Fuji is Shosenkyo in Yamanashi. It’s supposed to be very beautiful.

Miho no Matsubara is near Shizuoka city along the coast. It has, according to Google, “7-km. seashore featuring a sandy beach lined with pine trees & views of Mount Fuji on clear days.”

Don’t forget to check out Kawaguchi-ko as well.
