How to install a tv on a Japanese apartment wall?

My apartment has that beige textured almost paper like Japanese wall that many people know. It doesn’t look like it can handle weight very well. I hang some small paintings before but never something as heavy as a tv.

I know it may not be possible but if anyone has any other idea or furniture suggestion please share

  1. You will need a TV wall-mount that’s securely attached (screwed into) the wooden “stud” structures inside the wall, or into other solid structures like concrete.

Alternatively there are special “flip toggles” (wall anchors) that can be used to attach a lightweight TV mount on drywall. Then you attach the TV to the mount.

Since both require drilling into the wall, be sure to get permission from the landlord if you don’t own the place.

Or just get a regular TV stand on Amazon, etc.

  2. if you are in an apartment it is almost certainly against the rules to make any holes in the wall without asking (and if you ask they will almost certainly say no)

so i hope the holes from your pictures can be covered well

  3. I got a TV wall mount and attached to to two pieces of wood which are secured to the ceiling and floor using a product called Labrico.

This how some of us add shelves and other things to the places we rent with essentially no damage to the property.
