Hey everybody, I start by telling that I am wanikani user (I can’t force myself use anki whatsoever).
I am pretty slow at learning using only WK and I am forgetting some thing that I already learned.
Recently I decieded immerse myself more and more into japanese. In order to retain some things that I learned and along the way learn more new stuff. But I found it hard to practice collected words:
\- Using note (Notion, Notebook, etc.) – not very practical, there are about 500-1000 words I collected, but more I collect more tiresome to practice them manually.
\- Anki – not my cup of tea (seems too complicated)
\- JPDB – I liked flow: search for word -> add to deck -> practice. But there are to much stuff in the review (radical, kanji, vocab) and lack of actual info (other meanings, example sentences, etc.)

I am looking for very simple tool similar to jpdb, where I can search for word add to my list. And practice them when I will have free time. I do not need anything very special, very simple tool would to.
Most closest to this desciption for me is the “japanese” app, but unfortunalelly there is no web app. I usually use my laptop for learning and my notes are also in it, so I am looking for PC or web tool.

Thanks !

So you want custom cards to something like Wanikani? What about [Wanikani (WICS)](https://community.wanikani.com/t/extension-wics-wanikani-integrated-custom-srs-now-with-deck-exports/53041)?
For JPDB, in settings you can disable all of those.
Anki is not really that complicated, it just has a non-intuitive data model. Once you get your head around that (and the realization that you can import from spreadsheets making things much faster) then the creation of cards isn’t a big deal. The algorithm is also not really that complicated and is [well explained here](https://youtu.be/Eo1HbXEiJxo).
I hear that JPDB has a better algorithm, but you are limited to using it online. Anki has the overwhelming benefit (IMO) of flexibility and off-line usage.
Anki will do whatever you want it to do, there’s no need to interact with any of the “advanced” features if you don’t want to. You don’t even have to use the SRS part, or review any cards at all. It’s really useful even if you’re just using it as a database to keep track of all the words you’ve learned so far, especially if you’re using it in conjunction with Yomichan.
