Alternative hiragana character (?)

There’s a hiragana character (or what I’d assume to be one) that I’ve seen multiple times, always in brush-styled fonts, but I have no idea what it actually is read as. It seems to be written as if by taking the first stroke of ら and replacing the second with aし. What the hell is it??
