I was wondering if anyone has played the sims (or other simulators like Cities Skylines, Civilizations) in Japanese and if it has been good practice for learning.
It seems like a good idea in theory, because there is so much vocabulary. A great way to practice kanji and immersion.
At the same time, there’s no voice acting and I believe there’s no furigana.
Another thing I want to avoid when playing video games in Japanese is stop the urge to button mash and press anything when harder sentences appear. And since the sims doesn’t have a defined storyline I worry this might happen.
