Moving From Hokkaido to Kanagawa, I’d Like Some Advice

I’m moving from Hokkaido to Kanagawa, and I’d initially tried to get everything sorted out a few weeks ago but things are taking longer than expected. I’d like some advice. Here’s the situation:

1. I applied for an apartment two weeks ago but ran into some delays in the signing process. I still haven’t signed for the apartment because the room I was interested in was taken by another person around the same time I was approved. However, the owner has promised me another room with the same layout is being vacated on the 2nd. We’re meant to do a room viewing on the 6th and sign the paperwork then.
Right now, I’m debating on just skipping out on the whole thing and finding another place.
2. I need to transport my stuff but because I can’t really lock in my address until the 6th, I’m not sure what I should be telling the movers. I’m planning to go through Yamato transport but I’m not sure that they will come to my address. I’ll likely only have a few boxes, my luggage, a bike, and possibly a desk.
In the case that Yamato doesn’t come up here, what are my options? How early/late should I be applying for movers when I’m not even sure of my address yet?
