So the app recently asked me to reverify my ID and I did. But then I couldn’t top up from my bank without doing it again and I did. Now it’s asking to do it again. Any ideas what I should do?
Had this problem with multiple apps where they want you to photo verify IDs with a built in camera app in the app which sucks ass. Takes a shitty picture of the ID and can’t approve.
If I take a picture with the phone’s camera app picture is super clear but the app doesn’t allow it. Really stupid.
I wish I knew what the secret was to being able to top up my PayPay straight from my bank account. I once spent an hour on the phone with them, trying every possible combination of katakana, half-width romaji,, full-width romaji, spaces, etc. and nothing worked.
At least the convenience store ATM top-up is easy, and as a bonus it “feels” like I’m spending real money.
Do you have a middle name?
What worked for me was entering my kanji name with full width alphabet, and my kana name without any spaces.
Also any ‘half’ kana characters is usually changed to full size. Eg. ジョン becomes ジヨン.
Eg: John Michael Doe (ジョン・マイケル・ドウ)
Bank first: JOHN MICHAEL Bank last: DOE
Bank Kana First: ジヨン(space) マイケル Bank kana last : ドウ
PayPay First: ＪＯＨＮ(space)ＭＩＣＨＡＥＬ PayPay Last: ＤＯＥ
PayPay Kana first: ジヨンマイケル PayPay Kana Last: ドウ
One thing you can try is to get someone else try to make a transfer to your account from a bank that has the name-lookup feature, to see the exact kana your bank presents and capture that information to use.
(in some cases, it’s possible to view it by attempting to do a transfer to your own account number)
