As the title says I am wondering how much orthodontic treatment costs in Japan. This is because I will be going to Japan this fall for an exchange program for 10 months, but as it turns out I will be needing braces in my home country before going. I am therefore wondering how much the average price for orthodontic treatment is per visit. Thanks 🙂

There are ads on the train offering Invisalign “full course” for Â¥400,000 — methinks those are lowballing adverts.
Personally, I have been evaluated and offered a two year orthodontic treatment program for a little more than 1,000,000yen which came out to 4,000yen a visit (plus once or twice a year maintenance visits after initial 2 years).
Many orthodontists in Japan have post-doc trained in the U.S. so English is not as big a deal as other medical fields in Japan.
