11 day itinerary TOKYO/KYOTO

Hi guys! I have a rough itinerary of what I want during my trip in November of 2023. I will be traveling with my fiancé, we are both very into food, anime and some cultural stuff.
Just want to get some insight on how this looks and what people think.

DAY 1:
– Arrive Haneda airport @5pm

-Get pocket wifi, JR pass and check into Tokyo bay hotel

– go to Yumeno ohashi bridge and over to odaiba mall (gashapon store, rainbow bride)

– find a wagyu restaurant and after settle in for the night.

DAY 2:
– Disney sea

РPok̩mon cafe

– akihabara (should be there around 6, I want to see a lot of stores so will this be enough time?)

– visit maid cafe before heading back to hotel.

DAY 3:

– explore Ginza city (happy pancake, art aquarium).

– imperial garden

– meiji jungi temple

– explore shibuya (crossing, Starbucks reserve)

– visit parco mall

DAY 4:

Maybe do onsen first and take cable car up.
Explore street fare and maybe hakone

– return to Tokyo, freshen up and go to Tokyo sky tree at night.

DAY 5:
– head to Kyoto and check into hotel.

– visit nikishi market

– maybe saki and ramen tour? Open to other ideas.

– head home to freshen up and see Kyoto night life.

DAY 9:
– start day at lake biwa

– need suggestions for this day

DAY 10:

– Head back to Tokyo

– explore some of things we may have missed but wanted to do.

– onsen theme park at night

– dinner at Sakura in Tokyo bay

DAY 11:
– relax and make sure things are gathered before flight.

– leave Tokyo airport to head back home @ 5PM

Sorry for the rough format as this is written by phone. Looking for suggestions and tweaks as we want to enjoy ourselves and not be rushed.

Things we still would like to do
– Gundam factory
– omurice by the nice old guy in Kyoto I believe
– ghibli museum
– mugiwara store
РPok̩mon center
– capcom store
– great ramen restaurants
– beautiful scenery
– mega illumination
– teamLab botanical?

  1. Day 2 – most stores in Akihabara close around 8PM, so you wouldn’t be leaving yourself a lot of time to visit if you arrive at 6PM

Day 3 – Starbucks Reserve is in Naka-meguro, close-ish to Shibuya but still a train ride away

Not sure if you’ve already done this, but maybe you should map out the locations of things you want to do on Google Maps and then group them together. It seems like you’re all over the place with where you want to be each day.

  2. Day 7, too many cities. At best 2 if you start the day early and only check a limited number of sight in each city.

Day 8, same thing, Arashiyama is far from Nara, then adding Osaka… kind of make no sense.

Day 10, you have an onsen theme park in mind?

Do not exchange the pass at the airport if there is a line, exchange it later in Tokyo.

  3. Day 2 is listed as DisneySea but you also have a lot of other things planned, I would recommend on planning to dedicate the whole day to staying at Disney, especially if you plan on doing any rides or shows. It can quickly turn into an all-day thing even if you get there at opening. If you don’t end up there all day you can always explore more, but this way you give yourself breathing room.

Day 3 sounds solid, there is a Starbucks Reserve in Ginza with a nice seating area upstairs but it’s not a roastery if that’s what you’re looking for. Pokemon Cafe is in Nihombashi, not too far from Ginza, so it might be worth doing on this day instead. Make sure you have a reservation before you go.

Day 5, how much time do you have when you arrive in Kyoto? If you get there in the late morning/early afternoon, you would probably have time for Nishiki Market, a walk around Gion, maybe Ninenzaka. But again this is dependent on when you arrive from Tokyo.

Day 6, as with DisneySea I would recommend allocating almost an entire day to being at Universal Studios. It can get very busy and it might take longer to see/do everything you want to do than you expect.

Day 7 and 8 were already better addressed by the other commenter.

Day 10 sounds like a great day to visit Akihabara versus trying to squeeze it into Day 2, especially since you are anime fans. Give yourselves time to see all the stores you want to see, keeping in mind they’re usually open around 10 or 11am.
